Excellent! You're interested in submitting a film to The Alaska Short Forum!
You're in just the right place, here are some brief guidelines and answers to a few questions you might have about submitting your film.
Submission Form
Each film must be accompanied by a signed submission form.
Length
Films submitted to the show should be 15 minutes or less.
Format
We prefer that films be submitted as DV quality digital files or on Mini-DV tape. Media will not be returned so please do not submit the only copy of your film.
Widescreen films will have to be letterboxed to fit a normal television monitor. We can take care of that on this end if you'd like.
Eligibility
The Alaska Short Forum accepts films from Alaskan filmmakers or films with a strong Alaskan connection. Films do not need to be about Alaska or contain any reference to Alaska.
Secret Tips to Get Your Film in the Show
- Edit ruthlessly. Shorter films are more likely to be accepted due to limited space in each episode.
- Don't let bad production quality get in the way of a good story, it's nice when you can hear the dialogue and see what's happening on screen.
- Credits are boring, keep them short or make an alternate cut for the show.
